The SAGE Exec vision for 2011
- Offer more workshops and masterclasses more regularly, in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.
- Partner with internationally recognised local film festivals to provide masterclasses linked to the festival programmes.
- Facilitate workshops and masterclasses of a high quality that are of interest to our member on topical post-production issues.
- Generate and update resources for our members, including rate-cards and contracts.
- Make resources available on the SAGE website and distribute them to freelancers and production companies.
- Continue critically assessing all membership applications and accepting only those applicants that have acknowledged credentials and references.
- Continue listing members on the SAGE website according to their field of specialisation and level of expertise.
- Continue representing SAGE members on SASFED and other industry councils.
- Continue to support our members in labour and salary disputes.
- Lobby for the rights, recognition and fair treatment of our members by industry, broadcasters and other organisations.
- Build on 2010 successes with marketing and the SAGE FaceBook page.
- Promote SAGE as an organisation and find opportunities for exposure for our members.
- Encourage a collaborative, supporting community of editors in South Africa.
